A photographer first

 An observer always.

A little about Gui.

My background in photojournalism has shaped the way I approach photography. I'm drawn to real moments, interesting light, thoughtful composition and the kind of images that reveal a little more the longer you look at them.

I love the character of film and the considered nature of editorial photography, but I've never been particularly interested in making a wedding look like something it wasn't.

I believe there's an art to knowing when to step in, when to offer a little direction and when to simply let things happen.
And after all these years, it's still the unexpected moments that get me.

Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up around cameras, started working in my family's photography studio at a very young age, and have spent the better part of two decades making photographs.

Somewhere along the way, I studied journalism, photographed hundreds of weddings and developed a particular fascination with how people connect, and all the little things that make them who they are.

Sydney is home, where I live with my wife and our two kids. When I'm not photographing weddings, you'll probably find me in the ocean, listening to music or convincing myself I have time for another creative project.

A little about how I work

An instinct for the moment. A presence that puts you at ease.
After more than 800 weddings, I've learned that the way you make people feel is just as important as the photographs you create.

My approach is intuitive and considered. I'll find the beautiful light, offer direction when it matters, and know when to step back and let the day unfold. Nothing overly orchestrated. Nothing that takes you away from the people and moments that matter.

I want you to feel completely at ease, free to be yourselves and fully immersed in the experience.
The photographs are a reflection of that freedom. Thoughtfully composed, naturally imperfect and full of the character and feeling that made the day yours.

An editorial sensibility.

Weddings are wonderfully unpredictable. 

 It's often what happens in between that stays with us the longest. My approach is rooted in observation, guided by an editorial sensibility and a genuine curiosity about people.

I work instinctively, finding beauty in the unexpected and giving space to moments as they unfold.

Film invites a different kind of attention.

A slower, more deliberate process where light, composition and timing become all the more important.

I love its distinctive character. The richness of colour, the subtle grain and the beautiful unpredictability that makes each frame its own.

Working across film and digital allows me to respond instinctively to the day, choosing the medium that best serves the moment.
Always with the same intention: to create photographs that feel as beautiful as they are personal.

Your wedding day should be about being with the people you love, not constantly thinking about the camera.
I offer calm and thoughtful guidance when it is needed, whether that means helping you feel comfortable during portraits or finding the right light and setting for a photograph. At other times, I step back and allow the day to unfold naturally. My aim is to create a relaxed experience where you can enjoy your celebration while I pay attention to the moments that matter.
