A PHOTOGRAPHER,

ALWAYS OBSERVING.

ABOUT GUI

Photography has always been about more than taking a picture for me. It is about paying attention—to people, to light, to the small gestures and moments that often pass unnoticed.

My journey began in my family’s photography studio in Brazil. Over the years, journalism, fashion photography and more than two decades behind the camera have shaped the way I see and tell stories.

A STORY IS FOUND

FROM BRAZIL TO SYDNEY

My relationship with photography began at a young age, growing up around my family’s photography studio in Brazil. Being surrounded by cameras, photographs and the process of creating images introduced me to the craft early in life.

My education in journalism taught me to observe, listen and look beyond the obvious. Later, my experience in fashion photography helped me develop a stronger understanding of composition, light, detail and visual storytelling.

Eventually, my journey brought me to Sydney, where I continue to photograph people and celebrations with the same curiosity and attention that first drew me to photography.

Wedding Photography Since 2012

MORE THAN A PHOTOGRAPH.

Since 2012, I have been photographing weddings and documenting the people, emotions and stories that make each celebration unique.

Every wedding has its own rhythm. Some moments are loud and full of energy, while others are quiet, intimate and easy to miss. I want to be present for all of them—the laughter, the nervous anticipation, the embrace, the movement and the stillness.

My approach combines a photojournalist’s instinct with an editorial eye. I look for photographs that feel honest in the moment and meaningful long after the day has passed.

Why People Matter

THE PEOPLE ARE THE STORY.

Weddings are about more than beautiful locations, carefully chosen details or perfectly arranged portraits. They are about people—the relationships, the history and the connections that bring everyone together.

Family, community and human connection are at the heart of the way I photograph. I want to preserve the moments that show how people truly feel around one another, from the smallest gesture to the biggest celebration.

I believe the strongest photographs are not always the most planned. Often, they happen naturally when people feel comfortable enough to be themselves.

My Approach

to Film

FILM · PROCESS · INTENTION

Film has a different rhythm. It encourages patience, intention and a deeper awareness of each frame.
I value the process of slowing down, making thoughtful decisions and allowing a photograph to develop its own character. Film brings a tactile and timeless quality to the way a moment is recorded.

Whether working with digital or film, my focus remains the same: to create photographs that feel genuine, considered and connected to the people in them.

What Couples

Experience:

Your wedding day should be about being with the people you love, not constantly thinking about the camera. I offer calm and thoughtful guidance when it is needed, whether that means helping you feel comfortable during portraits or finding the right light and setting for a photograph. At other times, I step back and allow the day to unfold naturally. My aim is to create a relaxed experience where you can enjoy your celebration while I pay attention to the moments that matter.
